The PCM100 series was a follow on development by IMS in conjunction with Pall of an early mesh blockage unit called a Fluid Cleanliness Monitor (FCM). IMS ceased production of the PCM100 series in 2002 following the introduction of the PCM 400 Portable Cleanliness Monitor as a direct replacement.

IMS continue to provide calibration, service and repair support for the many PCM100 series monitors that remain in use today.
